We will run our classes through the Google Classroom platform, which will provide us an arena where we can share scripts and sheet music, send messages, and meet live via Google Meet. Our students will need a computer, laptop or tablet, an internet connection, and headphones.
Our classes will run on Saturdays from November 7 - December 12, 2020
Juniors: 10-11:15am, 6 week class, $150
Our Junior section will be for our youngest performers, aged 7-11, and will include work on short monologues, scenes, and excerpts from songs. Each child will get a chance to work individually and get feedback from our instructors. We will help our Juniors develop an actor and singer's vocabulary, and approach a script and music with a performer's perspective. We will focus on building self-confidence as well as teaching technique. Children will have the opportunity to tape their performances using Flipgrid for further practice and constructive feedback.
Seniors: 11:30am-1pm, 6 week class, $175
Our Senior section, designed for students aged 12-teen, will provide more in-depth, individualized work with monologues and songs, with an eye on creating self-tapes that can be used for auditions. Choosing material that highlights their abilities will be covered, and students will choose from comic, dramatic, ballad and up-tempo styles. Monologues and songs will be workshopped in the live-stream class, and students will have the opportunity to apply acting and vocal technique in order to develop character and increase range. Studens will submit videos via Flipgrid for instructional feedback. Students will also be taught the technical aspects of creating a self-tape, including lighting, sound and delivery.
